Accolades As Professional Muslim Women Hold Maiden Edition Of Annual Forum In Osogbo

The Allied Professional Muslim Women (APMuWom) on Sunday held her maiden edition of the annual professional forum in Osogbo, the state capital of Osun State.

 

The programme which was held at Osamdo hall in Osogbo and tagged ‘Striking A Balance ‘ was attended by scores of professional Muslim women in the state.

 

 

The chairperson of APMuWom, Hajia Fasilat Sulayman said in her welcome address that the annual professional forum was organized for Muslim women from various professions in order to foster unity, develop and encourage individual professional Muslim woman to be more productive, dutiful and successful in their career and Islam.

 

 

She explained further that the forum was also organized to share ideas, experience and network for optimum performance in different careers while pleasing Allah.

 

 

 

Corroborating, the secretary of APMuWom, Hajia Lateefat Mudathir-Okunlola while speaking with our correspondent said: ‘The purpose of this forum is to sensitize female professionals on how they can strike balance between Islam and professionalism.

 

‘We equally conducted medical check up for participants that came early. They were tested on hyperthesis, blood pressure and body mass.

 

 

 

‘We also awarded five professional Muslim women for their meritorious contributions towards the organization and Islam.”

 

Speaking at the forum, the lecturer of the event, Hajia Badru Taslihah Abiodun urged the participants on the need to take care of their mental health, stressing that it is a major determinant of every individual’s total wellbeing.

 

 

According to her, there is no health without mental health, hence every individual must take their mental health very seriously.

 

Pressed further, she urged the Muslim women professionals to give mental healthcare a priority in their scale of preference, noting that it is the way to go.

 

Also, the second lecturer of the event, Alhaja Mosurat Olaide Tijani urged the Muslim women professionals to be a good image maker of their profession.

 

She further urged them to always put Allah on every aspect of their professional life.

 

 

Meanwhile, our correspondent learnt that apart from the sensitization program that was conducted by the APMuWom, the organization also organized free medical treatment for the Muslim women and awarded five notable Muslim women professionals.

 

 

Muslim women professionals that were awarded during the forum are; Dr. Mrs Bello, Mrs Bello Folashade, Dr. Waliyat Funmilola Azeez, Dr. Sekinah Bola Oyebamiji and Mrs Muibat Omowunmi.
