NANS Engages Kwara State College of Education On Students Welfare, Adequate Security

The Kwara State College of Education, Oro, recently played host to a significant visitation from the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), National Secretariat led by the Clerk of the Senate, Senator Comrade Oladimeji Uthman. The visitation, which centered on issues regarding students welfare and security, saw constructive engagements between the NANS leadership and the institution’s management, marking a pivotal moment for student advocacy and collaboration.

Located in the serene town of Oro, the college is home to numerous students pursuing various academic endeavors. However, like many educational institutions across the country, it faces challenges related to students welfare and security, prompting the proactive intervention by NANS.

Senator Comrade Oladimeji Uthman, accompanied by a delegation from NANS, including representatives from the Directorate of Affiliated Campuses, convened with the college management to address pressing concerns affecting students. The discussions encompassed a wide range of topics, from the improvement of accommodation facilities to the enhancement of security measures within the campus premises.

Central to the dialogue was the issue of students welfare, which remains a priority for both NANS and the college administration. Senator Comrade Oladimeji Uthman reiterated the importance of providing adequate living conditions and essential amenities to support the holistic development of students. Discussions delved into areas such as healthcare services, academic resources, and extracurricular activities aimed at enriching the student experience.

Equally vital was the discussion on security measures to safeguard the college community. Following the productive engagements with the institution’s leadership, Senator Comrade Oladimeji Uthman and his team embarked on a comprehensive tour around the campus to assess the state of existing facilities. The tour provided an opportunity to inspect classrooms, hostels, laboratories, and recreational areas, college vocational centre, identifying areas for improvement and potential areas of collaboration between NANS and the college management.

In conclusion, the leadership presented the Secretariat souvenir to the Provost of the college which was ably represented by the Deputy Provost Administration.
