  • OSSCE Ila Orangun has suspended academic activities over insecurity on campus.

THE NATION REPORTERS reports that The Students’ Union Government of Osun State College of Education, Ila Orangun, has suspended the academic activities on campus over insecurity on campus.

This is contained in a statement on Thursday signed by the Students Union President, Comrade Taye Adeoluwa, General Secretary, Comrade Akano Segun and the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Akala Israel.

According to the statement, “With the breach in security which have been happening on our campus and with the recent one what took place yesterday.The students union government is hereby saying NO ACADEMICS ACTIVITIES will hold on campus until the managements is able to provide enough security on our campus.

“The students union government in the next few days be meeting with the necessary quarters and till then, the entire students populace are hereby mandated to stay away from campus and please make sure they are careful with their movement in their various hostel as the life of every students on our campus is paramount and sacrosanct to the students union government executive.

“The students union government will update the students populace as each day goes by.”

Meanwhile, a source closed to the Students Union President who craved anonymity said “A student went to harrass a fellow student on campus and the student that was harrased had to call the thugs inside the campus and disrupt the activities. Since then, it has been a clashed which has resulted to fight in the town. During the process, a chief lecturer was harrased out of lecture hall when the thugs came. The SUG and the management are actually working on the security measures and that was what led the SuG to declare a two-day sit at home for the students in order to curb the insecurity on campus.”
