4. Almonds: Bitter almonds contain amygdalin, a compound that can release cyanide when metabolized. Sweet almonds, which are commonly consumed, contain trace amounts of amygdalin and are safe to eat. However, it is crucial to avoid consuming bitter almonds or products made from them.

5. Rhubarb: While rhubarb stalks are edible and commonly used in cooking, rhubarb leaves contain oxalic acid, which can be toxic when consumed in large quantities. Ingesting rhubarb leaves can lead to symptoms like burning in the mouth and throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, seizures, and even coma.
